How do I redact a PDF for free?

Why is PDFNEO redaction safer than other editors?
Standard PDF editors only draw a black rectangle *on top* of the text. The underlying characters remain selectable and searchable. PDFNEO renders the page canvas, paints black over the pixels, and exports them as flat images, completely erasing the underlying text stream and metadata.
Can I undo or delete a blackout block?
Yes. While editing, hover over a black block and click the Trash icon to remove it before you hit the final 'Redact PDF' export button.
Will the redacted PDF have selectable text?
No. To guarantee absolute security, all pages are converted to flat images. If you need the unredacted text to remain searchable, you can run the output through our OCR PDF tool after redaction.
